VASSILIS AND IOANNA DOROVINIS, expert scientists in National Heritage, have undergone a personal restoration project, involving the rescue and enhancement of derelict, common town houses that form part of very important historic settlements, by converting them into luxury vacation houses.

The houses are located in southeastern Crete, in the listed as traditional settlement ANATOLI in the municipality of Ierapetra, and in Peloponnesus within the renowned castle town of MONEMVASSIA, listed as archaeological site and historic settlement. 
 
1.  IN THE VILLAGE OF ANATOLI 3 houses and a Coffee-Restaurant Lounge have already been restored in an exemplary way, combining the lost qualities of traditional home architecture with modern facilities and luxury. The 2 houses-PASIPHAE and SMARAGDA-are rented as touristic accommodation, while the 3rd house-KALLIRHOE- has been sold. The AMALTHEIA COFFER HOUSE will soon be converted into another luxury vacation house, for rent or sale.

The Dorovinis couple, through their construction and sales company in Crete, is the owner of several other pieces of property, as dilapidated houses, a shop, and an olive tree-groove lot, which are put on sale. The dilapidated houses are accompanied and sold together with complete restoration architectural studies and drawings, to compile within the legal protection framework.

2.  IN MONEMVASSIA CASTLE TOWN two miniature houses, part of their  property complex, TELESSILLA and ALKMENE, have recently been restored in an exemplary way, preserving and enhancing the unique structural and architectural features of each house and combining them with modern facilities and style.
The Byzantine-Veneto Chapel of St. ANDREW, also part of their property, has  been restored by a grant of LEVENTIS Foundation Trust, and is soon to be used as a multipurpose Center for private gatherings and meetings, cultural events (conferences, exhibitions, lectures) etc.
